LGBT Community Gets Organised in Manchester

There have been a number of initatives recently showing the LGBT community in Manchester is starting to organise and join anti-cuts campaigns.
Sunday 6th February saw the launch of Queers Against the Cuts at the Queer Cafe, Lesbian and Gay Centre, Sidney Street
Saturday 12th February saw a campaigning and arts event “Queer Riot” at the Contact Theatre with workshops on how the cuts are affecting the LGBT community; how to organise a gig; and safe spaces.
This event attracted around 60 people from a wide age range including students who had recently been involved in the Manchester University occupations.
Bands included Will n Rick, Statement Haircut, Salty Lips and Claire Mooney
These campaigns are linking with Manchester Coalition Against the Cuts and Manchester Trades Union Council to organise a LGBT coach to the March 26th demonstration
