Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals staff SS16
Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust expects its workforce requirement to reduce by around 10 percent over the next year. The Trust will attempt to manage this through natural turnover.
The Trust currently has 3,810 full-time equivalent funded staff in post, indicating a potential reduction of 380 full-time posts, although this excludes agency staff and vacancies.
The Trust provides acute medical services at Basildon University Hospital and Orsett Hospital, and mainly serves the 310,000 population of Basildon and Thurrock in South West Essex, plus some residents of the neighbouring districts of Brentwood (for whom it is the main provider of cardiology services) and Castle Point.
