Cuts
Cambridge Corn Exchange CB2
Sector: Arts and culture
Cambridge City Council is cutting £350,000 of funding to the Corn Exchange, an iconic Cambridge venue that has been running for 136 years.
The Corn Exchange is a music / theatre / arts venue in the centre of Cambridge.
The funding cut will result in 11 job losses and a massive reduction in the programme of the Corn Exchange, its cultural diversity and an increase in ticket prices.
It may well also impact on the running of the city’s Cambridge Folk Festival as the 11 members of staff being made redundant are all key personnel on the festival management team.
