Capita preferred bidder for electronic monitoring contract
If Serco gets it horribly wrong…http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/g4s-and-serco-face-50-million-fraud-inquiry-8703245.html
Just bring in Capita!
From the Capita website:
“Capita plc today announces that it has been selected by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) as preferred bidder for the electronic monitoring and field support services contract and also the role of overall services and systems integrator. The contract is expected to generate revenues to Capita of some £400m over the initial six year contract term, based on the anticipated increase in the use of tags beyond the current numbers of monitored individuals”
And there seems to be a view to going further into other public services:
“The flexible, scalable service has been designed to enable other government bodies, for example, the probation services, the NHS and social care agencies, to procure related services.”
