Civica gets shared service South Worcestershire contract with 3 councils
Civica has announced that it’s won a new deal with a trio of local councils in Worcestershire.
Reports say that the deal will save Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council, and Wychavon District Council £3 million over the next five years - worth monitoring to see if that actually happens.
The shared service deal will see Civica pursue with the intention of creating a “centre of excellence” in the area, providing services to the three south Worcestershire Councils and other public sector organisations. See Bedfordshire here as an example of a council where such centres have failed. http://falseeconomy.org.uk/blog/the-legal-bailout-and-escalating-costs-of-privatisation-fiascos-lessons-for
The deal will cover the three bodies’ revenue and benefits services, covering transactional, assessment and other services.
