Closure of A&E at Belfast City Hospital

Belfast City Hospital A&E closed. This has led to waiting times of of up to 12 hours in other hospitals’ A&E departments due to increased number of patients. One 86 year old man waited for 34 hours on a trolley before being seen.

Poor Student

Now that the A&E is closed, there is no way I can get to the other hospital without spending too much on a taxi, walking an unwalkable distance (in the case of an emergency), or taking an ambulance away from someone who might need it more. A lot of working class and under-financed students live near City Hospital and the A&E, without access to cars etc. and this will affect them adversely.
