Five Bolton libraries to close BL1

Location: UK » North West » BL

After a sustained campaign by local people to keep libraries open, a review of Bolton’s library service means that five branch libraries will close. The council says that the closures will save the council £200,000 a year.

Highfield, Castle Hill, Oxford Grove, and Heaton libraries have already closed, with Astley Bridge due to close on April 5.

More than 15,000 people signed petitions urging Bolton Council to keep all libraries open.
