Cuts
Norfolk county council daycentres and other key adult care services NR1
Day services which offer preventative care and respite care for families, among many other benefits, are now threatened with Norfolk county council’s agreement today (13 February) to cut £3.5m from the day services budget. This could lead to closures.
Budget cuts also include proposals to reduce the scale and capacity of mental health services and reductions in specialist advice in areas like disability services; direct payments; housing improvements; dementia; supported placements; medicines management. The council also proposes to remove councils subsidy for community meals.
More than 350 jobs are expected to be lost as a result of the 2012-2012 budget cuts.
There is a full list of agreed proposals here.
