Peterborough children’s services outsourced PE1

Location: UK » East of England » PE

Peterborough City Council is studying the feasibility of operating its children’s services as an ‘arms-length management organisation’ (ALMO). Such a move would involve the council transferring children’s services to a social enterprise, trust, or a partnership with an external organisation.

All services will be reviewed but are expected to transfer into the new organisation. A commissioning/review team will remain as part of the council to manage the relationship with the new organisation. The council says that “a sustainable and full children’s service delivery model will be protected.”
