Peterborough adult care charges PE1
Sector: Disability, Social care
Peterborough City Council is planning to increase charges for some community adult care services - day care services, respite care services and home care services, for example.
In general, the council will introduce charges that reflect the true cost of these services, rather than the current subsidised system. People on low incomes will continue to pay lower charges or none at all in some circumstances.
The increased charges are expected to raise an extra £80k a year for the council.
The council’s plans are currently out to public consultation along with the remainder of its proposed budget, with responses due by early February 2011.
