Peterborough car park charges PE1
Peterborough City Council is set to increase the charges for using many of its city car parks in order to raise extra revenue.
Instead of the council’s current policy of charging the same rate across all of its car parks, the council will set varying prices for each of its car parks. This will mean some prices will go up and some will go down and the council will be aiming to compete with private operators in the city.
Overall the council is hoping to raise an extra £161k to its current parking income budget of £3.4m, indicating that car park charges will on the whole increase.
The council’s plans are currently out to public consultation along with the remainder of its proposed budget, with responses due by early February 2011.
