Peterborough community association grant PE1

Location: UK » East of England » PE

Peterborough City Council is planning to nearly halve the value of grants it provides to a large number of community and resident associations.

At present, most most community associations receive £1,250 each, from a total budget of £65k. The council wants to slash this budget by £30k and introduce a system in which associations will have to bid for funding and become actively involved with neighbourhood councils (which will have access to additional funding through the development pot).

The council’s plans are currently out to public consultation along with the remainder of its proposed budget, with responses due by early February 2011.
