Cuts
Suffolk County Libraries
Suffolk County Council plans to cut at least 30 percent from its £9m library budget over the next three years. Two-thirds of Suffolk’s 44 libraries will close by 2012 if no-one comes forward to take them over.
A public consultation launched by the county council will run until 30th April 2011.
Suffolk County Council is signed up as one of ten pilot regions for the government’s Future Libraries programme.
