Cuts
West Suffolk Hospital staff IP33
Sector: Health
West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust plans to cut the equivalent of around 246 full-time staff between 2010 and 2015, which is around 12 percent of total staffing.
The Trust is proposing reductions in nursing/healthcare assistant staffing levels during the period 2010-2014 if they are linked to bed closures, although it says ward-based nursing will not be affected.
The Trust runs West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, and serves an area of approximately 600 square miles which extends to Thetford in the north, Sudbury in the south, Newmarket to the west and Stowmarket to the east. The Trust also provides outpatient services at six community hospitals and health centres.
