Cuts
York Blind and Partially Sighted Society YO24
York Blind and Partially Sighted Society is a charitable organisation partially funded by local contracts with the PCT and City Council and also by voluntary contributions, grants, legacies and fundraising activities.
We provide services in support of over 1000 blind and partially sighted members of York’s population, mostly older people.
2 of these services, our Hospital Eye Clinic Liaison service which supports newly diagnosed patients with support and signposting services and our Equipment and Information Service which helps to provide equipment to support independent living have been funded by the PCT.
The funding amounts to £35,000 per year across the 2 services.
This is to be cut from June 2012.
The services will cease unless we can reverse the decision.
