My specialist chair allows me to work, yet funding has been cut

I have a condition that requires me to have suitable support when sitting for long periods at work. My job is a desk job and I was assessed by Access to Work over 2 years ago and with AtW funding my employer provided me with a specialist chair.
My condition worsened so I was assessed again by AtW 2 years after the first assessment and AtW said they were no longer providing funding. They carried out the asessment and recommended a more suitable specialist chair.
My employer has declined to provide this. I should add that the reason they gave was because I had been provided with a specilaist chair 2 years previously.
Given that my employer knows that my condition worsened and that was the basis of another AtW assessment (and the chair provided 2 years previously was proving to be unsuitable/no longer providing support) I wonder if their decision not to provide the chair was influenced by the fact that this time they would have to foot the bill.
