Staff are pushed for time on our hospital wards

I had a cancer scare 5 years ago which resulted in a big operation. The care I was given was excellent - but even then I could see how pushed for time the staff were and how the “niceties” that we were taught when I was a young nurse myself - chatting to patients, doing ladies hair, extra tea and reassurance, had to go by the board because of sheer lack of time.
If there had been any less staff on duty the ward would have been unable to cope with basic nursing care. I am now thankfully fit and well, but I dread to think what would happen to me should I have a relapse.
Private medicine is just not an option for me. I urge this government to think very carefully before they attack our Health service
