SPAN gave me a purpose and made me want to live

Location: UK » East Midlands » NG

I feel that what is happening regarding the cuts in services in the third sector economy is only going to overstretch the burden of services in the primary and secondary care sector.

For instance closing organisations like SPAN which was an excellent building - I have been a service user for over 4 years there and they took me from being a really poorly man and gave me a purpose and made me want to live.

What will happen is that there is a danger that people will end up in their GP services and this will mean them being sent to hospital and as soon as they are discharged there are very little services to go to, so the swings and roundabouts go on. We need more third sector organisations not less.
